The Role in Brief:

Farrell Day is seeking an experienced, results-driven client development professional to join us as we redefine higher education strategic decision making. This individual will play a pivotal role in our innovative and fast-growing organization and will have an opportunity to join our team of higher education experts in its early stages.

 

The ideal candidate will develop meaningful relationships with higher education leaders including Presidents, Provosts and Vice Presidents in an effort to serve them and their students to the best of our abilities. The ideal candidate would have experience in successfully navigating long-term, relationship-based sales cycles, display exceptional emotional intelligence and have a track record of success working with and selling to C-Level executives.  

 

The Director of Client Development will be responsible for managing the totality of the sales process from targeting to lead generation to relationship cultivation to procurement through to collaboration with the Client Service team to ensure the success of our partners.

 

There is a strong preference for this individual to be based in Richmond, VA. Highly qualified remote applicants may also be considered.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop meaningful and successful relationships with higher education leaders with an emphasis on active listening and problem solving

  • Generate significant new business within an assigned territory

  • Partner with Farrell Day leadership to establish optimal client development processes

  • Effectively communicate across all departments within colleges and universities and persuasively engage campus leadership

  • Meet and exceed annual growth goals through actively managing all aspects of the procurement process and leveraging the collective talents and experience of the Farrell Day team

  • Collaborate with internal marketing and client service teams to drive additional revenue and enhance client success

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Proven success meeting and exceeding sales objectives

  • High level of emotional intelligence and ability to clearly communicate complex data processes and solutions with various stakeholders

  • Willingness to travel domestically at least 25%

  • Ability to learn higher education business processes and effectively articulate how Farrell Day’s services address pertinent challenges and opportunities

  • Desire to learn from colleagues, clients and prospective partners

  • Demonstrated ability to think creativity and approach sales with a problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks by focusing on priorities and client objectives

  • Expertise presenting to executives and facilitating persuasive discussions

  • Minimum of five years of full-time experience in business development/sales, ideally consisting of a long sales-cycle with a complex product or service

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher education experience, specifically in enrollment management, admissions, academic affairs, student affairs and/or advancement

  • Consultative sales experience

Individuals will serve colleges and universities with data analytics and business intelligence that help them better understand their position and control their destiny in a rapidly changing higher education marketplace.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage analytic and technical skills to enable ingestion and normalization of data from colleges and universities, ultimately making large and complex data sets more usable for our campus partners

  • Manage client data relationships to ensure data sets are consistently structured, timely, and facilitate value creating analysis

  • Exercise intellectual curiosity by mining data sets to find meaningful patterns and trends in the data—both for individual institutions and across campuses

  • Ensure data quality and security using best-in-class business intelligence tools and technology

  • Contribute to the product roadmap and subsequent enhancements and development

  • Collaborate with Principals to provide campus leadership with objective knowledge and actionable insights that will lead to better decision making

DATA SCIENCE

The Role in Brief:

Farrell Day is seeking experienced and driven Data Scientist to join us as we build and manage the data infrastructure to derive insights necessary to make education a more data-informed industry. This individual will be a critical contributor to a fast-growing, early-stage education technology business and will have the unique benefit of joining a supportive team of experienced professionals on the ground level.

 

Individuals will use a variety of data tools to build and implement models, create algorithms and run simulations.  They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders, clients and functional teams.  The ideal candidate will have experience in utilizing data to inform decisions and develop tests to inform the effectiveness of different courses of action.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage technical skills to develop and maintain highly secure data storage systems for our partners

  • Assist with software deployment and management of the technical infrastructure as related to data science projects

  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets

  • Use a hacker mindset to mine data, discover deeper insights about the student and families and uncover stories our campus partners have not heard

  • Asses the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources

  • Create technical documentation for models and algorithms to assist other team members and aid in onboarding new employees

  • Collaborate with the data and analytics team as well as the client service team in support of our partners

  • Uphold the highest standards for data quality and integrity

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field

  • Experience querying databases using statistical languages such as R, Python, SQL

Farrell Day is seeking experienced and driven database developers to join us as we build and manage the data infrastructure necessary to make education a more data-informed industry. These individuals will be critical contributors to a fast-growing, early-stage education technology business and will have the unique benefit of joining a supportive team of experienced professionals on the ground level.

 

Individuals will design, create and maintain complex data storage systems and will be responsible for all aspects of development, ETL functions, performance tuning and monitoring.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage technical skills to develop and maintain highly secure data storage systems for our partners

  • Assist with software deployment and management of the technical infrastructure

  • Support ETL processes to load data to Azure SQL and Azure Data Lake utilizing standard Microsoft tools

  • Utilize SQL Data Tools to build ETL processes and solutions

  • Write and maintain optimized SQL queries for integration with other applications

  • Create SQL stored procedures and triggers for automation to increase efficiency

  • Perform database performance tuning and indexing to increase speed of data retrieval operations

  • Support and enhance business intelligence development efforts by translating business needs to technical specifications

  • Create technical documentation for databases to assist other team members and aid in onboarding new employees

  • Collaborate with the data and analytics team as well as the client service team in support of our partners
